This speedpainting went 5 hours over time for the sake of practice. I am not entirely satisfied, but it's getting there. I was definately more critical of it last night, when I had just finished it, but taking a break from it did it a favor. I still need to work in tying figures more into the overall landscape. And pretty much everything else regarding painting environments. And colours. And composition... Critique is very welcome!
I love the texture on it! It's as if it's on canvas!
*Looks around, to see if anybody's listening, then leans close.* Allright. You find a texture, then you set it to overlay, turn down the opacity and watch all the panties drop. It's so easy it's almost embarassing.
I just though it was a brush setting because i'm oblivious to tricks like that 9_9
I did also use a grainy brush or three, but really it doesn't do it alone... I've absorbed by now, that to avoid getting plastic-airbrushed pictures, you need to go a little crazy and hand off the control to textures and textured brushes. To whatever end.
